Clerk Grade 9/10 

 

 

  • Temporary, 2-year role – 35 hours per week 

  • Clerk Grade 9/10 base salary between $125,693 and $138,510 plus super and annual leave loading 

  • Sydney Office (Haymarket) with flexible/hybrid work arrangements available

Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices. 

 

About the role 

 

The Senior Advisor - Psychosocial Health Safety and Wellbeing, is pivotal in promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace culture at Legal Aid NSW. This role supports the Manager Health Safety and Wellbeing by overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of WHS projects, with an emphasis on psychosocial, wellbeing and mental health related initiatives. It ensures compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, while driving continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing outcomes. 

 

About you 

 

You are a seasoned Senior Advisor with the capacity to lead and facilitate initiatives and programs to support and promote mental health and wellbeing. Reporting to the Manager, Health Safety and Wellbeing, you have demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating workplace mental health and wellbeing programs, ensuring continuous improvement and measurable impact. 

 

The successful applicant will have expertise in psychosocial risk management with strong knowledge of psychosocial risk regulations, contemporary frameworks on psychological health and safety, and best practices in workplace mental health and wellbeing.

The essential requirements for this role 

 

You must: 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Organisational Psychology will be highly regarded, and/or at least 5 years of demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience 

  • be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and/or Working with Children Check 

  • hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies) 

  • live in NSW or willing to relocate to NSW

2. Provide an example of how you conducted a psychosocial risk assessment in a complex workplace. What frameworks or tools did you use, and what was the outcome? 

  

3. Legal Aid NSW is committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive workplace. How have you incorporated these principles into your health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives? 

  

4. How have you supported managers and teams to build capability in identifying and managing psychosocial risks? What strategies or tools did you use to ensure sustained impact?
