Employment Type – Temporary, Full Time (12 months with possibility to convert to Ongoing)
Salary - $113,746 up to $124,258pa plus Superannuation and Leave Loading
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Your role
The Aboriginal Assistant Manager manages a multidisciplinary team to reduce reoffending of juvenile offenders to reintegrate youth into the community.
Working at a Dubbo Community Office, you will be committed to building a workforce to reflect the perspectives of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
What you’ll do
You will influence, develop, and manage staff and complex client needs in a high demand work environment while adapting to changes to ensure continuous improvement.
Provide support to clients to access services with limited resources and barriers while advocating and creating solutions to meet client needs.
What we’re looking for
- Develop and deliver successful programs with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders at front of mind.
- Manage and supervise a service delivery team, supporting day to day conferences, case plan reviews and reports, while allocating resources, undertaking performance management, and supporting employee development to contribute to effective service delivery.
- Undertake risk assessments and mitigating client risks posed to the community ensuring employee safety.
- Support effective planning, decision making, quality assurance, record keeping, and CIMS system data integrity.
- Work collaboratively and communicating effectively with employees, managers and non-government stakeholders to implement and communicate changes to ensure employees meet their expectations.
As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia’s First Nations people.

There are two alternatives to confirming your Aboriginality, one of which must be uploaded to be considered for the role as follows. Either will be accepted:
- Confirmation of Aboriginality form, or
- Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:
- is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
- identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
- is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
