Salary:

o   Psychologist: $76,531 – $113,765pa.

o   Specialist Psychologist: $109,631 - $134,446pa

o   Plus environmental allowance, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Join the psychology team at Mid North Coast Correctional Centre, a multi-classification facility (maximum, medium, and minimum security) housing both male and female individuals in custody. Your role 

As a Psychologist, you will:

·       Conduct psychological assessments and interventions for individuals in custody.

·       Work within a dynamic and supportive environment within a multi-disciplinary team to promote rehabilitation and reintegration.

·       Offer expert consultation to staff and statutory authorities on offender management.

·       Ensure ethical and evidence-based practices are consistently applied in all interventions.

 

What you’ll do 

·       Conduct assessments and interventions for people convicted of sexual offences

·       Deliver group-based offence-specific and offence-related interventions

·       Provide expert consultation to staff regarding offender mental health & risk management

·       Maintain accurate case notes and documentation

·       Prepare reports and provide professional advice

·       Participate in professional development, including the annual Psychological Conference.

 

What we’re looking for 

·       A motivated psychologist to provide an ethical and effective psychology service in a dynamic environment for psychologists who are charged with management of challenging clients and in the context of limited or scarce professional resources.

·       Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment in correctional psychology including mental health issues, cognitive impairment, and with respect to behaviour management.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary correctional principles related to psychological assessments and interventions, including criminogenic risk assessment.

Essential requirements

·       Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology, with current provisional or full AHPRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
