Senior Correctional Officer - Court Escort Security Unit (CESU)

 

Location: Nowra (5-day roster) and Batemans Bay (5 in 7 roster)
Employment Type: 2 x ongoing opportunities           

Salary: $94,451 per annum plus allowance, employer’s contribution to superannuation, and annual leave loading

 

Your role

 

Senior Correctional Officers play an important role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff and inmates. You will oversee the daily activities of all Correctional Officers within a Multidisciplinary team and significantly contribute to the provision of dynamic and static security in the containment and oversight of inmate/offender within a court cell location

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Ability to drive official vehicles with appropriate driver’s license for all job duties.
  • Preparedness to undertake shift work on a rotating roster as required.
  • Must be prepared to accept a role at the above locations.
  • Strong understanding of Warrants and Detainers.
  • Maintain proficiency in authorised instruments of restraint.
  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Utilise your proven custodial experience and knowledge to meet the demands of this role efficiently and effectively.
  • Always represent the Department in an honest, ethical, and professional way and lead by example.
  • Resilient, motivated with a positive attitude and confidence will be a benefit to this role.

Essential requirements

 

  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice
  • Be able to drive official vehicles and possess a Current NSW MR Licence.

  • Knowledge of and ability to implement emergency and contingency transport procedures
  • Understanding of Fleet Management procedures and CSNSW transport functions.
