Manager of Business Unit – Electrical / Plumbing

Location – Francis Greenway Correctional Centre
Employment Type – 2 x Ongoing, Full-Time roles
Salary – $133,459 pa + Superannuation + Annual Leave Loading
Your Role
We are currently seeking two experienced Managers that are logical and strategic thinkers with robust trade and business management experience within the plumbing and electrical industry.
As part of these roles, the successful applicants will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Business Unit to ensure productivity, efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved. You will need to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and staff as well as assist with business development.
The role requires:
- Supervision and management of staff and inmates by appraising performance of business unit and offering counsel and feedback to ensure that the organisational outcomes are archived
- Strong time management and computer skills
- Experience working in a high-pressure environment and managing to deliver key business objectives within set timeframes
- Willingness to work across all trade units as required
- Manage resources and budget efficiently and effectively to achieve planned outcomes by business units
- Maintaining duty of care and complying with WHS safety requirements are being met by sustaining a safe work environment for staff, inmates, contractors and visitors
What we’re looking for
As a standout candidate you will have:
- Proven recent post trade experience in either plumbing or electrical
- Ability and willingness to work across various trades as required.
- Capability to work away from home at short notice and sometimes for long periods of time
Essential Requirements
- Current Certificate III in Plumbing, Draining, Gas Fitting, Electrical or willingness to obtain within set timeframes by CSNSW
- Contractors licence in Plumbing, Draining, Gas Fitting, Electrical or willingness to obtain within set timeframes by CSNSW
- Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or willingness to obtain within set timeframes by CSNSW
- Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
