Your role

At Community Corrections, we aim to reduce the impact of crime on the community by effectively case managing offenders to achieve resettlement and successful order completion. We are looking for people who are prepared to do their very best in line with our values and behaviours with a strong focus on community safety. You will be joining a high functioning and diverse team who value working together as a team and provide support to each other in a highly demanding and rapidly changing environment.

Community Corrections Officers are trained to provide case management for offenders being supervised on community-based orders such as Parole Orders, Intensive Corrections Orders and Community Corrections Orders and work with offenders in custody to prepare for their release into the community on parole.

What you’ll do

This role may require successful candidates to work with offenders in the community and/or correctional centres.  You will monitor long and short- term goals and strategies with offenders and use various methods to monitor offenders’ compliance and conduct home visits. We provide great working conditions with strong work culture focus and staff engagement activities. There are extensive training opportunities and promotion opportunities as you progress. If you enjoy writing, working with a great team, and liaising across multiple stakeholders then this work will interest you!

Successful candidates will be required to complete a mandatory four-week, in-person, paid training program at our Brush Farm Academy, which is a key component of the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice curriculum.

What we’re looking for

  • We are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual with a background in social work, or professional experience working with individuals who display challenging behaviours.
  • A positive minded individual who is resilient by nature and able to effectively build positive relationships within a multidisciplinary team environment.
