Principal Branch Officer (Broken Hill) – NSW Trustee and Guardian
- Ongoing full-time vacancy. 35 hours per week.
- Location: Broken Hill Office. Face-to-face customer contact is a requirement of the role. Flexible working options available.
- Clerk Grade: 7/8 Base salary $110,266 p.a. to $122,058 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the team
The Estate Planning & Administration division is responsible for delivering NSW Trustee & Guardian’s commercial services in Will making, as trustee, attorney, and as administrator/executor of deceased estates. The teams administer assets in accordance with the functions and obligations under the relevant legislation and makes legal decisions within legal frameworks and NSWTG’s prescribed delegations. The division delivers high quality service using a customer-centred approach and is delivered by:
- Estate Administration
- Trust and Powers of Attorney Administration
- Intestate, Life Estates and Crime Confiscation/Civil Forfeiture administration
- Wills and Estate Planning
About the role
The role is part of a team that is collectively responsible for providing professional deceased estate administration and estate planning services that meet client needs, and that are consistent, efficient and effective. The role will both independently handle the most complex client transactions and provide guidance and support to Branch Officers and Senior Branch Officers.
Day-to-day, this is an exciting opportunity that will see you:
- Undertaking all aspects of Estate Administration
- Undertaking drafting, preparing and executing pre-planning instruments to a high standard.
- Act as first point of contact for difficult matters, and ensure that significant complaints or unresolved matters are referred to the Branch Manager to in a timely manner, and that client needs are met and the reputation of NSWTG is maintained and enhanced.
- Assist with the allocation of resources and work to staff of the Branch to ensure high staff performance, a customer focused culture and a professional, efficient and effective working environment.

About you
Application is encouraged if you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Superior understanding of the procedures and practices specific to administration of Estates, Trusts, Powers of Attorney
- Good knowledge of the personal trustee industry and practical experience in the administration of Estates, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and other Trustee related matters.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including NSW Trustee and Guardian Act, Succession Act, Probate and Administration Act and Trustee Act.
- You believe that supporting customers to document their last wishes is a privilege that needs to be carried out with warmth, support, understanding, and the utmost respect.
- You have experience in drafting and executing Wills and Estate Planning instruments that are legally compliant and to a high standard.
- You have strong collaboration skills and can build & develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You successfully apply a problem-solving and solution-focussed approach to your work.
- A team player who enjoys building a collaborative and cohesive team which is focused on achieving results and delivering excellent customer service.

Essential requirements
- Understanding of NSW government and NSWTG’s key services and client base.
- Current and valid NSW Driver’s Licence
- All roles in NSWTG require a willingness to have phone calls monitored for quality and training purposes
