Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) delivers professional correctional services and programs to reduce the risk of re-offending and enhance public safety. It serves a key function of the NSW Communities and Justice Sector by providing effective, safe and humane management of offenders both in custody and in the community CSNSW also works in partnership with other government and community agencies to ensure that offenders and their families are supported.
About the role
Corrective Services NSW requires an Assistant Centre Administration Officer to join a vibrant team at the Hunter Correctional Centre. Your role focusses on customer service and you will be responsible for coordinating visitor bookings into the centre via phone and email. This role involves weekend work processing visitors into the centre for inmate visits. You will also provide administrative support to the Manager and team. Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Accurate data entry
- Customer service
- Electronic filing and archiving
- General administrative team tasks
- Arrange daily courier services, mail pick-up/delivery, and distribution
- Assist with stores and asset management as required
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
- All miscellaneous tasks as required in accordance with the capabilities of the role
About you
To be successful for this role, you will display integrity at all times, and be a true team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will maintain confidentiality at all times whilst utilising your proven experience and knowledge to meet the demands of this role effectively. Resilience, initiative, high attention to detail and accuracy along with the ability to work under pressure are the key attributes to succeed in this fast-paced role.
