  • Clerk Grade 7/8 Salary ($110,266 - $122,058 per annum) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

We are seeking a Coordination Officer to support the development, coordination, and delivery of projects that help local governments and communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives that enhance disaster preparedness and community resilience across NSW.

 

About the Role
As a Coordination Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to the implementation of local and regional disaster recovery and emergency management programs and initiatives that align with the State Emergency Management Plan and supporting documents and ensure services and benefits reach disaster affected communities and individuals. 
  • Assist in designing and coordinating projects that enhance disaster planning and preparedness, aligning with whole-of-government strategies.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and emerging issues, supporting project development and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, and industry partners, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing.
  • Coordinate working groups, committees, and consultations to support stakeholder engagement and decision-making.
  • Monitor project progress, develop reports, and ensure resources are effectively allocated to meet key milestones.
  • Prepare project-related documents, such as reports, status updates, budgets, and discussion papers, to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Deliver high-quality outcomes within set deadlines, utilising strong project management processes.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working as part of a team to deliver major programs, projects, or government initiatives, particularly in a local or regional context.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills to support informed decision-making and policy development.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in coordinating working groups or consultations.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.

 

Essential requirements:

  • An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances. 
  • Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence.

About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is an executive agency of the Premier’s Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster. 
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
