Your role

 

The Coroner’s Court is responsible for managing deaths, fires or explosions reported to a Coroner.

 

The Client Service Officer role is part of the Court registry team which provide administrative and court support to Coroners. They are responsible for communicating with, and delivering services to Coroners, families, court users and stakeholders.

 

The role requires you to work in a fast paced, dynamic and sensitive operational environment, while maintaining a high quality of output and engagement with all court clients. The role may present opportunities for regional travel.

 

Persons seeking to work at the Coroners Court need to be compassionate and empathetic and have a high level of personal resilience as the role involves exposure to sensitive and graphic content, including images, photographs and discussions relating to violence, death and/or homicide matters.

 

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Someone who is proactive and is able to think on their feet, display empathy and maintain the utmost discretion and professionalism
  • Confident in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Experienced and confident with new technology and good attention to detail
  • Someone who holds a professional demeaner in the workplace and in their communication – both written and verbal
  • Someone who can travel to regional areas to manage inquest hearings
