About the role
The Manager, Infrastructure Coordination plays a critical role supporting infrastructure assessment, coordination, and funding processes to support public asset reconstruction following disasters. The role provides strategic oversight of infrastructure recovery programs, working closely with local councils, state agencies, and other infrastructure providers such as Aboriginal organisations and the not-for-profit sector to ensure the timely and effective restoration of public infrastructure assets.
This role will have a strong focus on designing and delivering funding under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), supporting damage assessments, the efficient assessment of funding claims and project proposals, guiding councils and applicants through submission requirements, to ensuring compliance with federal and state funding frameworks. The role will foster close working relationships with local and regional emergency management committees, ensuring that infrastructure priorities are well understood and supported before and after disaster events. In addition, the role will be critical to better understanding and identifying opportunities for infrastructure betterment to be undertaken to support greater resilience in the infrastructure network for future events.
In this exciting and varied role, you will:

Assist in the coordination and processing of DRFA funding claims, ensuring applications meet eligibility criteria and compliance requirements.

Provide technical guidance and support to councils and other applicants in developing and managing funding submissions for disaster-affected infrastructure.

Work with local councils, state agencies, and infrastructure providers to facilitate infrastructure recovery efforts and ensure timely access to funding.

Contribute to local and regional emergency management committees, providing technical input on infrastructure recovery and disaster preparedness priorities.

Support reporting and analysis of disaster-affected public infrastructure, contributing to the strategic outlook for reconstruction efforts across NSW.

Assist in the development of funding program processes to facilitate efficient and compliant infrastructure reconstruction.

Provide advice and input into program improvements, governance frameworks, and stakeholder engagement initiatives, including opportunities for infrastructure betterment
What we are looking for:
You are a proactive, results-driven leader with a strong understanding of infrastructure delivery and disaster recovery funding processes (DRFA). You have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly in working with local councils and government agencies, and can manage complex funding programs and technical assessments with confidence.

Experience in infrastructure planning, funding assessment, or program delivery, particularly in a public sector or disaster recovery context.

Demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills with an ability to find mutually beneficial solutions.

Strong knowledge of DRFA funding processes, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks.

Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with experience working alongside local councils, emergency management groups, and state agencies.

A background in engineering, infrastructure program management, or a related field is highly desirable.
