  • Clerk Grade 7/8 Salary ($110,266 - $122,058 per annum) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role
As a Public Affairs Advisor, you will:

  • Provide media management and public affairs advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Develop media strategies, policies, and materials to support government announcements and communications.
  • Create engaging content for media, social media, and digital platforms.
  • Support the planning and execution of public awareness and safety campaigns.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist staff in managing media interactions in alignment with Authority policies.
  • Coordinate public relations campaigns, media events, and government briefings
  • Analyse engagement data to improve future communication efforts.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in communications, media, or public affairs.
  • Strong writing and content creation skills for media and digital platforms.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in managing media inquiries and stakeholder relationships.
  • A strategic mindset with an analytical approach to communication initiatives.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, media, communications or public relations and other relevant media-based experience and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in media relations, journalism or public relations. 
  • Strong writing skills
  • After hours, on call and weekend work is required on occasion.

About the Agency

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.

 

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
