- Clerk Grade 9/10, salary relative to experience ($125,693 - $138,510) + super
About the role
As the Senior Advisor, Communications and Engagement, you will play a key role in crafting and delivering communications that help communities understand and engage with the work of the RA. You will:
- Develop and implement communications and engagement plans across a wide range of subject areas.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure consistent and coordinated communication approaches.
- Translate policy and program information into clear, accessible content using plain English.
- Support stakeholder and community engagement initiatives to build understanding and gather input.
- Plan and deliver communication activities aligned to strategic and operational priorities.
- Manage project logistics including budgets, timelines, resources, and reporting.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide expert communication advice.
- Evaluate communications strategies to ensure effectiveness and guide future improvements.
- Produce high-quality content for diverse channels, including newsletters, web, and social media.
- Provide technical support and guidance on communications, including disaster recovery messaging.

About You
We’re seeking a motivated and experienced communicator who can turn complex information into impactful messages. You’ll have:
- Proven experience in project managing communications content across a variety of platforms for internal and external audiences.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft content across different formats and subject areas.Experience designing and delivering communications and engagement strategies in a complex environment.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A passion for community engagement and the ability to connect people with meaningful work.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or related field, or relevant and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to write content across a range of platforms and subject areas.
- Capacity to travel to outer suburban and regional locations, and to work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends.
About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is an executive agency of the Premier’s Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
