  • Role based in Lismore (Northern Rivers), with flexible/hybrid working environment  

  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $125,693 - $138,510 + super  

 

 

About the role 

As a Senior Project Officer, you will be the go-to expert for  delivering community engagement and communications activities to support the Northern Rivers Disaster Adaptation Plan and its objective to build long-term resilience to natural hazard and disaster risks. You will specialise in innovative community resilience and engagement frameworks, trauma-informed communications, and place-based tools and tactics. .   

 

 

About you 
High calibre candidates will have significant experience in delivering communications and engagement projects to communities with a trauma-informed approach. They will also have effective coordination in a dynamic and politically sensitive environment.   

 

Essential Requirements  

  • Strong skills in designing, implementing and coordinating engagement and communications strategies that build community awareness, understanding and participation in initiatives related to resilience and the affects of natural hazards and climate change. 

  • Ability to project manage community engagement initiatives, budgets, risks and reporting requirements.   

  • Experience working on a technically challenging project and ability to translate scientific concepts into everyday language,Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills to assess situations and develop effective resolution strategies.    

  • Track record of building strong collaborative relationships with communities and the business and provide project and operational support in a community focused environment.
