Location: Nunyara COSP, Malabar
 

Employment Type – Ongoing, Full-Time roles

Salary - $70,694 - $76,857 pa + Superannuation + Leave Loading

 

Shift Hours:

  • Nunyara COSP, Malabar – Shift Work including weekends and public holidays

6:30am to 2:30pm

2:30pm to 10:30pm

10:30pm to 6:30am

 

About the Role
 

As part of this role, the successful candidate will aid the residents of the Centre and facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the aims and objectives of the program.

This role is committed to improving outcomes for the benefit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

 

The duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Implement case plans as required with strong record keeping skills based on interactions with residents using OIMS system.
  • Mentor residents to ensure compliance with program objectives as well as assist residents to develop life skills for independent living within the community.
  • Guide residents in relation to social interactions with staff, external stakeholders, and other residents so skills flow for self-sufficient living in the community
  • Resolve serious situations relating to the health, safety, and wellbeing of residents to ensure duty of care responsibilities of the program are fulfilled.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with the Aboriginal community in collaboration with other residential staff to deliver program interventions.

 

What we’re looking for
 

  • Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment with Corrective Services NSW
  • Current driver license and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
  • Proven cultural capability, which includes lived experience, knowledge and understanding of contemporary social issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people, including skills in identifying and/or responding to the diverse needs of Aboriginal people experiencing significant trauma and disadvantage.
  • As an Identified role, this role is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia’s First Nations people. Where a position is identified, an applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and authorised by Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
