Asset Performance Supervisor

Mascot Location – 50% in Office
Full Time Until 30 September 2028
Clerk Grade 7/8 – ($110,265 - $122,057) + super and leave loading
The Role
Reporting to the Asset Performance Lead, this role will coordinate the development of the Housing Portfolio’s program of works and the respective estimates/negotiations with contractors. The position will manage staff working on compliance inspections ensuring the required numbers of inspections are carried out.
The responsibilities of the role also include (but are not limited too):
- Coordinating the development and planning of the quarterly program of maintenance works to support the efficient and cost-effective management of Housing Portfolio property assets
- Developing appropriate maintenance programs for allocated properties
- Leading, managing and supervising Asset Performance Officers by providing operational guidance and direction of workload and priority allocations as well as managing staff performance and their ongoing professional development
- Overseeing the office estimating and subsequent negotiating processes with relevant contractors in order to implement the program of maintenance works
- Identifying, responding and rectifying reasons for non-compliance of contractors and issuing non-compliance notices for substandard work that will initiate abatement action
- Contributing to the development of compliance, risk and performance management programs and monitoring delivery of the agreed program of works to ensure work is delivered according to agreed timeframes and budget
- Undertaking future use analysis prior to requesting quotations or issuing orders and ensuring operational requirements are met
What we’re looking for
The essential requirements of this role are:
- Understanding of the Australian Building Codes, Australian Standards, Government or commercial probity and contracting standards
- Relevant qualification and/or sound construction building maintenance and/or building construction experience/exposure, together with field inspection experience and measurement of performance against standards
- Advanced MS Word and Excel with MS Project skills
- Current driver’s license
- Desirable – experience in reviewing compliance inspections of building essential services
In addition to the essential requirements of this role, the successful candidates will have the following:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage, develop, delegate and monitor a team of differing personalities
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders resolving any escalations or concerns in an appropriate timeframe
- Confident and logical decision-making skills
- The ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines and competing tasks whilst adjusting to events in an ever-changing fast-paced environment
