Senior Investigator
- Location: Malabar, Long Bay Correctional Complex and other DCJ workplaces
- Employment type: Ongoing, Full-time (35 hours)
- Salary: Grade 7/8 ($110,266 - $122,058 p.a. plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)
Your role
The Senior Investigator is responsible for conduct assessments and investigations, including security investigations and critical / targeted investigations in an effective manner in accordance with the legislative requirements, available methodologies, and organisational guidelines.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for conducting timely investigations into matters of interest incidents and provide evidence-based reports and/or findings for senior management review. This Senior Investigator produces analytical risk-assessments and prepares reports systems for the Professional Standards Committee (PSC)’s consideration prior to moving on any proposed disciplinary actions.
You will advise the senior management on any contingency and incidental issues that may emerge as part of the investigations. This role will work part of a larger team to deliver quality customer service and support to the business unit whilst maintain strict confidentiality and integrity over sensitive information.
As a Senior Investigator, you will provide advice, recommendations, and statistics to senior management on matters for sound decision-making purposes.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant experience in the conduct of misconduct and other investigations in a public sector environment
- Knowledge of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013 (GSE Act), rules of evidence, civil and administrative procedures, and the machinery of government
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or higher qualification or relevant experience
- Current driver’s licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
- Capacity and willingness to spend periods away from own residence.
Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:
- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
