Your role
This role is committed to improving outcomes for the benefit of young people in the Moree community and forms a key component of a new Bail Support Team which is being established to provide intensive support and guidance to young people in Moree who are on bail, but not court ordered supervision.

- Provide intensive support to young people who are on bail but not under supervised orders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Aboriginal community and key stakeholders to successfully provide and deliver front line services to young people.
- Undertake a strengths-based approach to support young people who agree to bail support.
- Undertake case management activities that target appropriate areas of need/risk to the young person.
- Work collaboratively with Youth Justice staff along with a range of government and non-government stakeholders to connect young people to services appropriate to their individual case plan and monitor the progress of the young person.
- Work closely with courts, police and other legal services and provide clear and advice, briefings, reports and other formal communication.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Provide young people and their families with the tools, information and support to create positive change in their lives and contribute productively within their community.
- Work with community, family and young people to undertake community development work and partnerships which can provide benefits to young people.
- Adapt to changes and comply with Departmental policies, procedures, standards and best practice guidelines.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated strong understanding of Aboriginal community engagement principles and practices, particularly in the Moree community.
- Demonstrated work with Aboriginal young people, communities, and families.
- Ability to initiate and design community development activities.
