Your Role


We are currently seeking an experienced Manager that is a logical and strategic thinker with demonstrated people and business management experience. In this role you will be responsible for running at team of officers and inmates to undertake the operation for the correctional centre while providing oversight and guidance to staff and inmates.

 

As part of this role, you will need to maintain strong relationships between senior managers across Corrective Services NSW and external stakeholders.

 

The role requires:

 

  • Providing leadership and direction to support and coordinate the development of inmate programs and to ensure all Work & Education operational objectives are being met.
  • Deliver strong technical and management advice on business issues including procurement and contract management. 
  • Manage inmate employment, education, and vocational training, ensuring output and outcomes are being met in line with Work & Education Business Plan
  • Strong time management and computer skills
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and managing to deliver key business objectives within set timeframes.
  • Experience in managing budgets of the work area and taking responsibility to ensure that resources are effectively allocated while meeting the operational objectives.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within timeframes.
  • Current Driver Licence and preparedness to drive as part of the role.
  • Relevant trade/Certificate III qualification: Construction, Building, Agriculture, Cooking or related industry
  • Management qualifications desirable

 

 

About you:

 

  • Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description.
  • Possess proven management experience in a manufacturing or facilities maintenance environment and the ability to plan and implement vision and goals within budgets, set by upper management. Qualification in this field is highly desirable.
  • High level experience in staff motivation and performance management
  • Proven experience in quality management and business management systems and software e.g. Pronto or similar business management reporting system is highly desirable.
  • Possess good technology and computer skills
