  • Salary: $93, 295 – $102,941 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

 

Your role

 

The Assistant Project Officer – Settlement sits in the Community and Policy Division. The Settlement team:

 

  • Leads and coordinates implementation and evaluation of the NSW Settlement Strategy;
  • Provides advice to the CEO and Minister for Multiculturalism on settlement matters;
  • Supports the NSW Coordinator General for Settlement to work closely with all levels of government, the non-government sector and the community to improve the settlement system in NSW;
  • Responds to emerging settlement challenges;
  • Develops opportunities for refugees to participate in government decision-making;
  • Coordinates whole-of-government responses to Australian Government settlement policy and reviews;
  • Represents Multicultural NSW on a variety of NSW and Commonwealth Government committees.

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the Settlement team, you will have the opportunity to support implementation and evaluation of a variety of initiatives under the NSW Settlement Strategy.

 

You will have the responsibility of coordinating the NSW Coordinator General for Settlement’s diary and planning and preparing associated meeting papers in close coordination with other team members.

 

You will be detail-oriented, highly organised, with an efficient way of working and dedication to ensuring high-quality and accurate outputs across a variety of projects. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders from across government and not-for-profit sectors and demonstrate a flexible, problem-solving approach to your work.

 

You will work as part of a team of seven, working closely with three Senior Policy Officers (9/10) and two Policy and Project Officers (7/8). The team and working environment are collaborative, supportive, responsive and require a detail-oriented and robust, evidence-informed approach.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Expertise and skill in providing project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans.
  • Excellent written skills to collate and update documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to support the delivery of projects.
  • Experience and skill in a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating meetings, preparing papers, taking minutes and keeping track of actions.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to support multiple projects with tight deadlines and competing demands and priorities.
  • Experience undertaking research and analysis in assigned project areas and contributing to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning.
