Salary – Grade 7/8 ($106,025-$117,363) + Super

 

 

This recruitment is to establish a statewide Community Engagement Officer talent pool to continuously draw upon over 18 months to fill vacancies as required.

 

 

Your role

 

At Homes NSW, we aim to ensure that lived experience informs the work we do. Through community engagement and tenant participation we are creating opportunities to capture ideas and feedback within communities.

The Community Engagement Advisor will help make this a reality!

 

These roles are responsible for leading the development, implementation and evaluation of the tenant and stakeholder engagement component of projects to achieve project outcomes and support the achievement of organisational objectives.

 

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the Community Engagement team, you will facilitate the community-based outcomes from start to finish and take appropriate actions to consider community feedback into projects and decision-making processes.

 

You will lead, collaborate, communicate and deliver a variety of community engagement tasks to support different types of projects with a variety of community-based stakeholders.

 

You will engage positively and regularly with the community and other stakeholders to identify local issues and impacts that are relevant to project. You role will include collecting, compiling and documenting feedback and impacts.

 

You will respond to community enquiries and complaints, and prepare communications material to engage positively with the community.

 

You will proactively identify community engagement issues and risks, then work with the relevant teams to develop and implement mitigations.

 

You will identify strategic opportunities to elevate tenant voice and improve services for our customers.

 

You will actively research, analyse, document and report on the community risk profiles of programs to advance business objectives and work with key stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.

 

 

What we’re looking for

 

Relevant qualifications and/or experience:

Professional qualifications in community engagement, community development, marketing, public relations, communications, and/or 4 years demonstrated experience successfully working with the community in a property development or infrastructure environment.

 

Relevant capabilities to contribute effectively to the Community Engagement Team including:

  • demonstrated ability to self-manage,
  • demonstrated commitment to act with integrity
  • a commitment to providing best-practice customer service

 

The ability to work collaboratively:

Build cooperation and overcome barriers to information sharing and communication across teams and units.

 

Capability to communicate effectively:

Clearly explain complex concepts and arguments to individuals and groups.

 

Well developed influencing and negotiating skills:

Use facts, knowledge and experience to support recommendations. Anticipate and manage conflict effectively.
