Director Digital Experience

Temporary position available for up to 12 months
Located in Parramatta – flexible and hybrid arrangements available
$231,159 to $255,262 total remuneration payable

 

Your role

The Director of Digital Experience will drive the development of accessible online communication platforms, major digital projects and services that support the communications goals of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).

 

What you’ll do

The director will enhance DCJ’s online communications presence and ensure it aligns with NSW Government design standards. The role will contribute to DCJ operating as a unified and cohesive Department that delivers outstanding services to internal and external customers. You will also:

  • Lead the delivery of projects that consolidate DCJ’s intranet and internet platforms, with a focus on value for money solutions that make online content easy to access. 
  • Build collaborative and strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with the Ministers’ Office/s and serve as the key point of contact for expert advice.
  • Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources and deliver priorities.
  • Ensure the development of designs and standards support making content available to all audiences including people using assistive technologies.
  • Ensure the Digital Experience team understands sensitive content and issues across broad policy areas and multiple portfolios including courts, child protection, social housing, domestic and family violence, ageing and disability, and community sector issues.
  • Foster awareness among the Digital Experience team of privacy, legislative and information security requirements which constrain information the department can release.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Experience as a senior executive, leading a strong people culture that aligns to vision, purpose, and goals of the organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in building collaborative partnerships with the wider executive team and ministerial offices. 
  • Experience working with legacy systems and harmonising digital platforms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate digital jargon in plain language and communicate priorities to key stakeholders.
