Legal Support Coordinator

Inquests, Inquiries and Representation

 

  • Principal location – Parramatta – Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
  • Employment type – Ongoing position – Full time (35 hours)
  • Salary – Clerk Grade 7/8, Base Salary ($110,266 – $122,058), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

Your role

 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the legal support functions for the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation team. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient and effective legal service delivery, driving innovation, and supporting our legal officers to achieve business objectives in a dynamic and impactful environment.

 

What you’ll do

 

As part of the Inquests, Inquiries and Representation team, you will oversee and enhance all clerical and administrative legal support functions. You’ll lead the design and implementation of improved work practices and manage the delivery of e-court services and technological innovations.

 

You will also:

  • Manage support staff performance, including work allocation, time and attendance, development reviews, and addressing training needs
  • Provide operational advice and recommendations to the Director on administrative support and drive change initiatives
  • Develop and implement consistent procedures to ensure high service standards and minimise business risks
  • Monitor budgets related to legal support functions to ensure cost-effective service delivery
  • Support the implementation and ongoing management of e-court services and other legal technologies
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, professionally resolving any issues
  • Regularly evaluate and improve legal support workflows and processes for maximum efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate closely with legal officers to ensure their administrative needs are met and aligned with team objectives
  • Work as part of a collaborative team of dedicated legal professionals who value innovation and quality service.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Proven experience leading legal support functions, ensuring high service standards and productivity.
  • Strong skills in managing e-court services and electronic discovery processes.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to manage, develop, and motivate clerical and administrative staff.
  • Ability to implement innovative processes and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.

 

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
