Are you an experienced grants and funding professional looking to make a real difference to NSW communities? In this key role, you will lead and coordinates the Authority’s administration and delivery of grant and funding programs to ensure effective governance in the development, distribution and use of state and Commonwealth grants for disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and recovery. You will ensure funding is effectively managed, working within a dynamic environment to drive best practice, community outcomes and legislative compliance.
About the Role
As the Manager, Grants and Investments, you will:
- Implement the Authority’s grants management framework to ensure best practice in grant administration and achieve optimal outcomes for our communities.
- Oversee the performance and risk status of Commonwealth, State, and other grants, taking corrective action when needed.
- Ensure compliance with the NSW Grants Administration Guide and optimise funding outcomes.
- Manage financial reporting systems to provide accurate and timely grant allocation records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support grant delivery, compliance, and reporting obligations.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including liaising with grant recipients and government agencies.
- Oversee Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) to enhance accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identify and address emerging risks and issues within grant programs.
- Lead and coach a high-performing team, fostering a culture of best practice and professional development.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience in managing and developing grants and funding programs in a complex and politically sensitive environment.
- A strong understanding of governance, compliance, and financial management in grant administration.
- The ability to assess and manage risks, ensuring effective and accountable funding distribution.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across agencies and funding recipients.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in coaching and developing teams.
Essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline – this could be management/finance related, or a discipline related to disaster risk reduction

About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
