The purpose of the Executive and Ministerial Services team is to manage all ministerial and executive engagement on behalf of Housing Portfolio. Key activities include collaboration with investigating bodies around investigations; reviewing reports once received; responding to reports; drafting and providing briefs to Senior Executive and Minister, timely resolution and response to NCAT complaint and feedback matters and management of high-risk reputational matters, such as GIPA requests, subpoenas and human rights commission enquiries.

 

Primary purpose of this role is to manage the resources within the Executive Unit, ensuring that accurate and timely responses to Ministerial matters, co-ordinating the drafting and endorsement of responses to Housing Portfolio and external stakeholder enquiries and, managing projects and activities to support the Head of Portfolio Management (Assets).

 

What you’ll do

In your role, you will play a pivotal role in providing proactive and evidence-based expert advice and reports to the Director and/or the Executive Director.

 

Your focus will be on ensuring that matters impacting the business unit's current operations and future decision-making are thoroughly considered. A critical aspect of your role involves providing operational direction and leadership to cultivate an outcome-oriented culture of teamwork, achievement, and accountability. You will be responsible for managing resources, budgets, assets, projects, and staffing to optimize goal achievement and ensure that staff possess the necessary skills and performance levels. Leadership, encompassing financial planning, will be vital in aligning the business unit with the organization's strategic direction.

 

Your responsibilities also extend to ensuring effective operations, promoting cost-effective use of the organisation's resources, and serving as a guiding force for staff on policies and procedures affecting the Business area's operation. Furthermore, you will lead and drive team management, overseeing the Learning and Development budget, recruitment processes, professional services and consultant budget, and prioritising work for timely completion.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
