- 1x Temporary full-time opportunity of 12 Months with the possibility of extension, working 35 hours per week.
- Parramatta location with flexible and hybrid working options available.
- Clerk Grade 7/8. Base salary $110,266 to $122,058 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

About the team
The Taxation team is part of the Legal and Professional Services division that provides expert legal, taxation, financial planning, and genealogy services to customers across the entire agency.
About the role
The Principal Advisor - Taxation is responsible for preparing complex tax returns and leading a team of tax officers, advisors and support personnel deliver quality, timely, effective and customer focused taxation services for trusts, estates, power of attorney clients and clients under financial management order; estimating and reserving funds for taxation of trusts and estates and providing advice to relevant stakeholders where necessary.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Taxation, this role will see you:
- Provide taxation advice to customers and staff of NSWTG in a concise manner
- Prepare complex taxation returns for NSWTG’s trust, deceased estates and financially managed customers
- Ensure the taxation returns prepared by team members meet the necessary standards and lodge them with ATO
- Motivate and coach team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps in productivity, procedures and risks
- Exemplify high performance through role modelling NSWTG’s values and behaviours.

About you
We strongly encourage you to apply if you have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications. Taxation qualification will be considered as an advantage
- Extensive experience in preparing taxation returns for deceased estates, testamentary and other trusts and individuals
- Wide knowledge of taxation law provisions and ATO rulings relating to individuals, deceased estates, testamentary and other trusts
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express complex taxation concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
- The ability to work collaboratively with other divisions within NSWTG to deliver customer service excellence
- Ability to promote and enhance a positive culture within the team and other staff within NSW Trustee and Guardian
