About the team

The Financial Performance and Investments division provides a full range of financial services including budgeting, procurement, customer accounts and investment management services.

 

About the role

The Procurement Officer provides procurement expertise and assists stakeholders to plan, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet business outcomes, government directions and NSWTG’s fiduciary duty. This role will be assigned to a portfolio and be provided training and support from senior staff.

 

This is an exciting opportunity that will see you:

  • Validate stakeholder business needs, compile and source market information, and assist in analysing markets and assessing risk to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures to meet business needs and participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money procurement outcomes.
  • Implement and contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance and negotiate contract variations through effective supplier relationships to enhance business outcomes
  • Provide advice, information and guidance on procurement related matters to staff across the agency to provide governance and support good practice in procurement.
  • Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
  • Maintain and update procurement records including contract register and disclosure requirements and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information.

About you

Application is encouraged if you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience in a professional procurement role – Private sector, Not for Profit and Government experience welcome.
  • Ability to understand stakeholder needs to support procurement planning and decisions.
  • Experience in negotiating to establish and review supply relationships.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise advice, information and guidance on procurement-related matters to stakeholders.
  • Skilled at interpreting contract terms and conditions and explaining them to stakeholders to maximise contract value and performance.
  • This role will primarily cover Customer procurement including for Property Services,
  • Experience in managing performance and risk for high volume, low value contracts would be beneficial.

Essential requirements  

Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in a relevant discipline or industry.
