Program Officer
Location: Parramatta, Flexible working arrangements considered
Employment type: Temporary full-time role up to 30 June 2026
Salary: $113,574.00 pa - $125,720.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
This role supports the DCJ Core & Cluster Capital Contracting team to work with the DCJ Core & Cluster unit in delivering new refuges for Woman and Children escaping Domestic and Family Violence in NSW.
What you’ll do
This role will support two Clerk 9/10 positions and the Manager Capital Contracts by providing administration and secretarial support to manage Core & Cluster Capital Contracts.
Daily tasks may include:
- Responding to Community Housing Providers enquiries.
- Meeting with Community Housing Providers, taking minutes, writing agendas.
- Reviewing documentation to gather information.
- Internal and external stakeholder meetings to share information or seek advice.
- Compliance management work and filing in TRIM.
- Data input and database management of CHIMES.
- Processing invoices and tracking finances in excel budget spreadsheets.
- Some occasional travel statewide to conduct site visits or meet with Community Housing Providers may be required.
The role is responsible for:
- Undertaking aspects of the administration of community housing procurement, tendering and contracting related to non-government services providers and contractors.
- Conducting performance monitoring and reporting activities to ensure delivery partners comply with and meet program deliverables.
- Applying an understanding of internal DCJ policies, regulations and guidelines on contracting and procurement to ensure good practice and regulatory requirements are followed and providers and clients are treated fairly.
- Liaising and working with DCJ Divisions, other government organisations and non-government stakeholders to ensure an effective integration of program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
The Core & Cluster Capital Contracting unit manages the implementation of Community Housing Assistance Agreements, capital deliverables of the program, maintenance and repairs funding and deliverables, and the relationships with Community Housing Providers.
What we’re looking for
The right applicant will be able to work autonomously while being supported by a tightknit team.
The team and work is distributed throughout NSW and the preferred applicant will have strong communication, organisational and self-management skills. An ability to problem solve with attention to detail will be highly regarded.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse range of key external and internal stakeholders, service providers and contractors.
- An understanding of the administration of contracting and/or procurement activities related to non-government services providers and contractors.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound project management practices and good attention to detail.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent industry or professional experience in a relevant area.
- Paid Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 is required upon commencement.
It would be desirable to:
- Have knowledge and/or an understanding of contract administration.
- Have knowledge and/or understanding of community housing matters in general.
- Have knowledge and/or an understanding of planning, building or working with property.
