Senior Advisory Officer

  • 2 x temporary full-time positions until 6th March 2026. 35 hours per week.
  • Location: Parramatta based. Hybrid and flexible working options available.
  • Clerk Grade: 5/6 Level. Base salary $97,027 p.a. to $107,059 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the team

The Taxation team is part of the Legal and Professional Services Division that provides expert legal, taxation, financial planning, and genealogy services to customers across all functions of the entire agency. 

About the role

Responsible for providing high quality advice to clients, ensuring trustee and financial management/taxation services are high quality, timely, effective and customer focused.

We have 2 x temporary full-time position based in Parramatta with the possibility of extension.

About you

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Taxation or possess equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing complex tax returns for:
    • Individuals
    • Trusts
    • Deceased estates
  • Strong understanding of the NSW Government services and client base.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, consistent, cost-effective, and timely advisory services.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Skilled in:
    • Lodging tax returns with the ATO
    • Estimating and reserving funds for taxation obligations
    • Providing expert advice on taxation matters
  • Capable of managing and resolving:
    • Difficult cases
    • Appeals and complaints
  • Committed to upholding and enhancing NSWTG’s reputation through professional and client-focused service delivery.
