  • Principal location – Parramatta - Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
  • Employment type – Ongoing position – Full time (35 hours)
  • Salary – Clerk Grade 11/12, Base Salary ($145,378 – $168,130), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

Your role

 

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the General Counsel and Director of Legal Operations within DCJ Legal. You will contribute to the efficient and effective operations of DCJ Legal, playing a key role in shaping its future operating model and leading innovation. By driving continued innovation, service delivery, and leveraging technology, data analytics and knowledge management, you will help enhance legal operations that benefit DCJ Legal and its clients. What you’ll do

 

Leading the Knowledge, Information and Engagement functions within Legal Operations, DCJ Legal, you will manage key projects and operational activities, contributing to the development and implementation of business plans, budgeting, and strategic initiatives. You will oversee the efficient use of DCJ Legal’s practice management system to improve data analysis, reporting, and legal matter management. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will help identify emerging legal technology trends, improve business processes, and implement a knowledge management system across DCJ Legal.

 

You will also:

  • Utilise technology and digital innovation to improve operations and meet reporting standards and accountabilities, leveraging available resources for maximum efficiency.
  • Support the General Counsel and Director of Legal Operations in a wide range of operational and management responsibilities to enhance the operations of DCJ Legal.
  • Contribute to the development of business and strategic plans aimed at continued innovation and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to the management of legal budgets, external spend, and reporting processes to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of procedures that streamline legal service delivery and improve efficiency.
  • Lead staff engagement initiatives such as induction, training, and wellbeing programs, fostering professional development.
  • Conduct research and analysis, utilising DCJ Legal’s practice management system to support key projects and operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with other DCJ divisions and cluster agencies, facilitating the provision of services to the Attorney General, Cluster Ministers, and Departmental Executive.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience in legal operations with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development. 
  • Working knowledge and experience of  practice management systems, software programs and knowledge management systems. 
     
  • Experience in leading projects as the senior business representative.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Government policies and procedures, or demonstrated ability to acquire such knowledge within a reasonable period.

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
