  • Clerk Grade: 11/12 Level. Base salary $145,378 p.a. to $168,130 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Taxation team is part of the Legal and Professional Services Division that provides expert legal, taxation, financial planning, and genealogy services to customers across all functions of the entire agency. 

About the role

The Senior Manager, Tax provides taxation services that:

  • Meet the needs of NSW Trustee and Guardian's customer base including, estates, trusts, and individuals as well as corporate taxation requirements.
  • Comply with taxation laws, including legislation, caselaw, and ATO requirements.
  • Are high quality, efficient and timely.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Parramatta, with additional work required at the Sydney CBD office.

About you

NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Taxation to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team that provides comprehensive taxation services to NSWTG’s wide customer base and meets NSWTG’s corporate needs.  NSWTG customer base includes estates, trusts, power of attorney customers and customers whose estates are subject to a management order made by a court or tribunal. 

  • You will be heavily involved in undertaking this work yourself and you must be a person who can undertake complex research into taxation law, provide comprehensive advice and apply your knowledge to the work of NSWTG.
  • You need to be able to respond to Australian Taxation Office requests for feedback and consultation, work collegiately with other tax professionals within the public and private trustee industry and be prepared to provide input into government law reform proposals.
  • You hold tertiary qualifications in accounting or taxation and are a registered tax agent. You also hold membership of a relevant professional body.
  • You possess a thorough understanding of NSW government and NSW Trustee and Guardian’s key services and customer base, enabling you to provide tailored and informed taxation advice.
  • You have strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
