  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 - $142,665 + super 

 

 

About the role

As a Senior Program Strategy Officer in the Community Preparedness team, you will manage and coordinate the delivery of multiple high-impact projects designed to strengthen community resilience. These include the development of the Get Ready NSW website, content creation, media campaigns, and a resource hub; the design of a place-based preparedness program and community program library; and capacity-building initiatives for regional staff and key stakeholders.

 

You will also play a pivotal role in implementing a national partnership approach, including supporting the rollout of the National Get Ready Alliance program, which—pending imminent funding approval—will inject $2.2 million into preparedness initiatives over the next three years. Your leadership will be critical to the sustainability and success of these projects.

 

 

About You 

You are an experienced project leader who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You excel at managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and have a proven ability to deliver outcomes on time and within budget. Your strategic thinking and strong communication skills enable you to navigate competing priorities and drive collaboration across diverse teams.

Key experience and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end projects, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in community programs, capacity building, or partnership development is highly desirable.

 

Technical and soft skills:

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence outcomes and build partnerships.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of emergency management arrangements and associated NSW legislation, or the ability to quickly build this understanding.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in project management or change management, in order to develop, drive and implement relevant strategies and programs.
  • Familiarity with community development principles and best practices, and knowledge of local community dynamics and issues.
