Employment type – Temporary, Full-time up to December 2025

Salary - $125,693 - $138,510 pa plus superannuation and leave loading

 

Your role

A temporary opportunity for a Senior Project Officer is available in the Major Projects Team until December 2025. The position develops, manages and implements a range of projects within Community Corrections to support and improve service delivery. 

 

What you’ll do

The Major Projects Team (MPT) is responsible for supporting priorities identified by the Community Corrections Assistant Commissioner, and Community Corrections directors. This may include developing frameworks for new initiatives, leading projects to improve state-wide service delivery or specific matters identified by the Assistant Commissioner. 

The MPT works on a variety of ad-hoc and short-term projects and requests. The MPT also works on many longer-term projects and priorities. These generally have state-wide implications and affect a large number of staff, people on community based supervision, and other stakeholders.

The role will be required to:

·       manage and oversee all aspects of project planning

·       develop and implement a range of projects

·       develop frameworks and processes to support priorities of the Assistant Commissioner, Community Corrections

·       establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships,

·       develop high quality work in often short timeframes

·       develop resources and materials based on limited or unknown information

·       develop resources and materials to support project delivery and implementation

·       provide support, supervision and guidance to MPT Project Officers, and

·       provide quality, considered, and evidence-based advice to the Department’s executive on significant issues relating to operational performance data, offender management and reducing reoffending.

 

You will report to the Manager, MPT. The team is accountable and responsive to the Director, Strategic Operational Management.

·       is willing to learn new systems, technology and practices relevant to project delivery

·       has demonstrated project and stakeholder management experience

·       can be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the team

·       has a strong understanding of the Community Corrections operating environment and offender management
