Are you skilled at coordinating complex projects and enhancing operational systems? We are seeking a proactive Senior Project Officer to join our Investments and Grants Operations team. This is your chance to drive transformative initiatives, refine business processes, and help shape disaster recovery and resilience efforts.
About the role:
Do you have a passion for grants administration including professional background in philanthropy, government grant administration or community grants? This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the effective management of grants and funding programs, to ensure delivery frameworks are aligned to best practice and meet the needs of NSW communities.
Reporting to the Manager, Investments & Grants Operations, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of an assigned portfolio of grants and funding program.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will:
- Plan, develop, and deliver projects, ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Have input into an effective Target Operating Model across the branch.
- Design and enhance grants management systems to meet stakeholder needs.
- Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication and issue resolution.
- Support the establishment of new grant programs with appropriate governance and risk controls.
- Coordinate risk management practices, maintain an active risk register, and ensure contingency plans are in place.
- Oversee and develop educational materials to support stakeholders in grant processes.
- Monitor and evaluate project implementation, addressing issues and ensuring benefits realisation.
- Facilitate continual improvement through after-action reviews and embed lessons learned.
- Promote learning and ongoing improvement across the branch.

About You:
You are an experienced Senior Project Officer who excels at driving business improvements and delivering complex initiatives. You have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to achieving quality outcomes. You thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at balancing multiple priorities.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in delivering complex projects.
- Ability to design and implement improvements to operational systems.
- Strong risk management and governance skills.
- Experience in business transformation and integrating systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
Essential requirements:
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant knowledge and experience.

About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
