- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 - $142,665 + super
About the role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will manage and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex projects that deliver meaningful outcomes. Your work will support organisational objectives and contribute to recovery programs for communities impacted by natural disasters. From planning and resource coordination to stakeholder engagement and risk management, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
About You
You are a strategic thinker and skilled project manager who thrives in dynamic environments. You excel at balancing multiple priorities and navigating complex stakeholder relationships to achieve results. Your ability to lead teams, manage risks, and deliver evidence-based recommendations ensures successful project outcomes.
Key experience and knowledge:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end project lifecycles, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and benefits realisation.
- Experience working on policy or program development, ideally within government or disaster recovery (emergency management) contexts.
Technical and soft skills:
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and research capabilities to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage teams and influence outcomes.
- Knowledge of contemporary disaster recovery (emergency management) concepts.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualification and/or relevant knowledge and experience.

The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier’s Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government.
