- Parramatta based role with flexible and hybrid work options available.
- Clerk Grade 9/10 Salary ($125,693 - $138,510) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
About the role
As the Senior Project Officer you will be at the forefront of managing and coordinating a range of projects to achieve strategic objectives. You will oversee all facets of project planning, development, and implementation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Project Management: Develop detailed project plans, coordinate resources, manage budgets, and ensure all reporting requirements are met. Your goal will be to deliver projects within scope and according to established agency project management methodologies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through strong communication, negotiation, and issue management to ensure project deliverables are met.
- Evaluation & Risk Management: Monitor and assess all aspects of project implementation, including risk management, benefits realisation, and quality measures. You will identify issues, track progress, and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve project outcomes.
- Team Leadership: Manage project teams, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements, and guiding the team towards achieving key milestones and outcomes.
- Research & Advice: Conduct research, provide evidence-based recommendations, and offer advice to stakeholders to support project development and delivery.
- Monitor and Evaluate: Develop and implement program logic, outcomes, KPIs, and tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain Expertise: Stay current with best-practice approaches, translating research and evaluation into practical tools and resources for stakeholders.
- Foster Team Culture: Promote collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the team, setting clear performance standards and deadlines.

About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with:
- Expertise in Project Management: A strong foundation in managing complex projects, including experience in developing, driving, and implementing strategies and programs.
- Cultural Proficiency: Ability to navigate and communicate effectively across diverse demographic groups and stakeholders, including community organisations, government agencies, NGOs, and businesses.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated experience in facilitating meetings, managing committees, and engaging with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management or change management, or equivalent experience, with a proven track record of successful project delivery, strategies and/or programs.
- Expertise in Facilitation: Demonstrated experience in managing meetings, committees, and governance forums with a collaborative approach.
- Community Development Awareness: Familiarity with community development principles, local dynamics, and best practices.
- Experience with IT project management software tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Atlassian Confluence and Jira.
About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is an executive agency of the Premier’s Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
