Location: Parramatta - Hybrid (1-2 days a week attendance at office in Parramatta)

Employment type: Ongoing full-time role

Salary: $113,746.00 pa - $124,258.00 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

 

Your role

 

The Senior Research Officer is the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics & Research’s lead researcher on qualitative research and process evaluation projects.

 

What you’ll do

 

The Senior Research Officer is involved in leading all aspects of qualitative studies and process evaluations, including developing proposals and engaging in co-design, collecting data via interviews and surveys, and conducting qualitative and descriptive data analysis to examine criminal justice issues and programs, for the purposes of Bureau publications.

 

The Senior Research Officer sits within a multidisciplinary research team consisting of economists, statisticians, psychologists, and epidemiologists in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

 

What we’re looking for

 

The ideal candidate should have:

 

  • An Honours degree or higher in a relevant discipline
  • Experience using NVivo or other software used for qualitative data analysis
  • Understanding of practices in qualitative research and process evaluation that ensure a high degree of internal validity

 

Desirable experience and knowledge includes:

 

  • Quantitative research and evaluation skills
  • Culturally appropriate and/or trauma-informed research practice
  • Knowledge of research ethics frameworks, guidelines, and processes
  • Understanding or experience of program logic and logic modelling
