Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 ($145,378 - $168,130 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
As a Senior Technical Specialist, you provide technical and subject matter expertise, including advanced technical guidance and solutions, across facility management, lifecycle maintenance, and capital works upgrades. The role supports the delivery of organisational goals through proactive planning, technical innovation, and alignment of asset capabilities with business objectives and performance requirements across the full asset lifecycle.
What you’ll do
As part of the Major Program Delivery team within Infrastructure and Assets division, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- This role provides expert technical guidance and leadership within the Programs and Partnerships team, supporting the delivery of facilities management, lifecycle asset maintenance, and capital works programs across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ).
- The position is responsible for ensuring that the department’s diverse and often heritage-listed assets are maintained and upgraded in line with legislative requirements, industry standards, and strategic objectives.
- Key responsibilities include resolving complex technical issues, developing forward maintenance strategies, supporting project delivery through sound technical advice, and ensuring compliance with best practices.
The role also plays a key part in driving innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging emerging technologies and data-driven tools to enhance asset performance and support long-term infrastructure planning.
The successful candidate will join the Programs and Partnerships team, working closely with the Director, Senior Managers, Senior Project Officers, Lead Maintenance Coordinators, and Maintenance Coordinators. What we’re looking for
We are seeking a candidate with a strong technical background, ideally holding a tertiary qualification, trade certification, or equivalent experience in a facilities management-related discipline. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in maintenance or service delivery, bringing practical knowledge and insight into field operations. We're looking for someone who can apply this experience to support continuous improvement, embrace technical innovation, and help enhance our systems and processes for more effective maintenance outcomes.
