Your role
This is a newly created role due to our growing portfolio of Centrally Managed Offices. We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Workplace Services Officer to oversee and coordinate the daily workplace operations of our agile offices. In this role, you’ll ensure our workplaces are safe, compliant, and welcoming, while delivering high-level support to staff, management and our executive leaders.
As part of the Programs & Partnerships Communities team, you will report to the Manager Workplace Hubs. Our Program and Partnerships team are committed to making a difference in the work we do, delivering human centred solutions to create safe and welcoming workplaces for our frontline colleagues in Child Protection, Housing and Homelessness, Youth Justice and Community Corrections, to name a few, who take care of our NSW community.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will lead the delivery of workplace services across a portfolio of sites within Sydney Metro and Greater Sydney. With one direct report and a concierge team provided by our partners, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our workplaces are safe, functional, and aligned with departmental standards.
Your focus will be on delivering customer-centric support to DCJ staff and management, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement to meet evolving workplace needs. You’ll collaborate closely with building operations teams, contracted service providers, and corporate services to ensure services are delivered in accordance with service level agreements, NSW Government standards, and departmental policies on health and safety, sustainability, and accessibility.
You’ll take a proactive approach to workplace safety, leading risk assessments and managing safety programs to ensure the wellbeing of all employees across our touchdown network. Your ability to analyse workplace performance metrics and provide data-driven recommendations will be key to informing strategic decisions and enhancing service delivery.
This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your project and program management capabilities, gaining valuable experience in best practice governance, systems, and tools.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in managing workplace services or facilities, ideally in a leadership or supervisory capacity. You will have strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Your communication skills, both written and verbal, will be exceptional, and you will have a proven ability to deliver high-quality, human-centred customer service.
You will be detail-oriented and capable of producing outcomes that reflect care and precision.
You should be comfortable working independently while also thriving in collaborative team environments, showing adaptability and accountability.
Your ability to build credible relationships, actively listen, and tailor your communication style to suit different audiences will be key to your success in this role.
Travel across your portfolio of workplaces in Sydney Metro / Greater Sydney will be required. A valid NSW drivers' licence is required.
Previous experience working in government is not essential.
