Clerk grade 7/8, Salary $110,266 to $122,058 per annum (pro-rata)

Courts, Tribunals and Service Delivery support the NSW community by providing access to justice services, through the protection of rights and public safety initiatives. The NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) provides specialist Tribunal services to help parties resolve disputes fairly and according to law.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Consumer and Commercial Division of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
As the Deputy Divisional Registrar – Conciliator you will conduct conciliation conferences between parties to facilitate the early resolution of disputes in line with the Tribunal’s key objectives of providing prompt, proportionate, accessible and cost-effective services.
What you’ll do
- Work independently with the parties to proceedings to objectively and fairly assist them to negotiate mutually agreeable outcomes within the requirements of the law.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse group of members of the public, Tribunal Members, and staff.
- Manage your own workload in a high paced high volume environment.
- Undertake the delegated work of a Deputy Divisional Registrar within tight time frames.
What we’re looking for
- Candidates with the ability to maintain detailed knowledge of legislation relevant to the Tribunal’s jurisdiction, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Proven capacity to exercise sound discretion and judgment in communicating with parties and Tribunal Members.
- Experience working in a high-volume customer service environment, with knowledge of contemporary dispute resolution, and case management practices.
- Have the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding of disputing parties without compromising neutrality.
- Have a strong work ethic with a can-do attitude to work to tight deadlines across multiple tasks
