Your role
Psychological & Specialist Services is currently seeking psychologists to join our LINKS program. LINKS Trauma Healing Service (LINKS) delivers trauma focused, evidence-based support to children in out-of-home care. The program seeks to decrease trauma symptoms, increase psychological wellbeing and improve behavioural and emotional functioning for this cohort of young people. As clinical leaders in trauma-informed intervention, we are dedicated to ensuring that vulnerable children and families receive the highest quality therapeutic support to promote their overall wellbeing and resilience.
Our psychologists:
- Work within a multidisciplinary team that collaborate to provide holistic assessment and intervention plans for children, young people, families and carers.
- Specialise in trauma informed therapeutic assessment and intervention (e.g. TF-CBT and EMDR).
- Equip staff through training and reflective practice sessions.
- Provide specialist consultation to guide casework practice.
If you are a motivated team player, value building connections within community, resilient in challenging situations, committed to evidence-based practice and bringing about change in vulnerable children’s lives, we encourage you to apply. The role is open to psychologists with general registration, registered psychologists with endorsements and those who are provisionally registered.
While the location is based at DCJ’s St Marys office, some travel will be required to other local offices, in addition to meeting with clients at various sites including but not limited to their schools and homes.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, with either:
- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or
- Provisional registration with an ability to fulfil full registration within the relevant timeframes.
- Knowledge of theoretical and therapeutic frameworks that underpin assessment and intervention in the context of child abuse/neglect/trauma.
- An understanding of the application of psychological theory, assessment and intervention when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from diverse cultural backgrounds, individuals identifying as LGBTQIA+.

We focus on hiring people who share our commitment and goals of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage and integrity. If you meet the essential requirements and the role resonates with you, please apply – you do not need to meet every desired requirement for us to want to talk to you.
