- Location – Sydney CBD with flexible working arrangements available
- Employment type – Ongoing - full-time position (35 hours)
- Salary – Legal Officer - Grade IV, Base Salary ($134,483 – $137,071), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
The successful candidate will undertake legal research for the Solicitor General and Crown Advocate and to provide professional assistance to the Solicitor General and Crown Advocate on constitutional law issues and on civil and criminal law matters.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for providing professional legal advice, support and research in the relevant areas of law to contribute to efficient and effective legal services. The role requires a highly organised solicitor with the capability to liaise with both clients and staff. Your ability to problem solve and manage simultaneous issues is vital to the success of the role.
You will also:
- Provide high level and accurate research material for use in advice and submissions to court.
- Provide professional and legal advice on constitutional, civil, and criminal law matters.
- Provide detailed research on a range of constitutional, civil, and criminal matters.
- Meet the exacting quality and time needs of the Solicitor General and Crown Advocate.
- Liaison with external agencies and the legal profession.
What we’re looking for
- Legal qualifications and with a current NSW practising certificate.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the relevant area/s of law.
