The NSW Reconstruction Authority are seeking a Director Hazard Risk & Data Assurance. As the Director, you'll be at the helm of all aspects of our disaster risk and impacts analysis, leveraging your deep expertise in hazard-specific knowledge to develop cutting-edge decision-support tools and processes. Your role will be pivotal in enabling data to be effectively utilized for disaster adaptation planning, ensuring our communities are better prepared for whatever challenges may come their way.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an executive whose influence will extend far beyond our organisation. You'll collaborate closely with government partners to inform policy and planning decisions, leveraging specialist data and tools to shape initiatives that enhance our resilience to disasters.

 

About You

We are looking for an executive with

  • A thought leadership skillset, capable of driving innovation, shaping industry discourse, and inspiring others with their original insights and expertise.
  • Extensive experience in leading teams through complex and dynamic environments and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid experience leading a team of technical specialists (GIS capability functions) to inform and develop best practice science informed disaster adaptation planning strategies.
  • Extensive experience in analysing and using data and best-practice methodologies to provide technical advice regarding mitigation and adaptation strategies to reduce natural hazard risk.
  • Tertiary qualifications and experience in any natural hazard management.
