Salary Classification: Legal Officer Grade V 

Employment Status: Temporary Assignment/Temporary Employment up to 5 weeks, full time - 35 hours per week  

Duration: 14 April 2025 to 28 July 2025 

Salary: $149,906 - $152,845 p.a. (excluding superannuation and Annual Leave Loading) 

Location: Sydney CBD (Martin Place) 

  

Expressions of interest are sought from interested Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO) employees to join the Employment Law & Industrial Relations Practice Group. The team provides advice and litigation services in a range of areas and jurisdictions, including administrative review proceedings.

About the Role  

  

Our ideal candidate will have well-developed legal skills and experience in employment law and/or in general litigation and administrative review proceedings.  

 

Senior Solicitors conduct complex assigned legal matters (advice and/or litigation) and supervise Solicitors Grade IV, I-III, and legal Graduates within the Employment Law & Industrial Relations Practice Group. Senior Solicitors have the ability to conduct complex legal matters in alignment with client instructions, tender requirements, and legislative standards while adhering to CSO policies and guidelines. Supervision of legal matters is crucial to ensure client service standards are maintained as per CSO policies and procedures. Senior Solicitors must be able to undertake legal matters of significance to the State while balancing the supervision of staff in the conduct of their legal matters and keeping abreast of current developments in the areas of law in which the relevant Practice Group specialises. 

  

 Essential Requirements: 

  • Completion of a law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law Course. 

  • Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW.  

  • The removal of condition 2 from your practicing certificate, permitting the supervision of legal work.
