  • Clerk Grade 11/12 Salary ($145,378 - $168,130 per annum) plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

 

We are seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join the team as Principal Advisor, responsible for driving the delivery of key organisational and government priorities. This role provides an opportunity to lead a high-performing team, operate as a key support to the executive and leadership cohort, oversee complex initiatives, and shape reporting and decision-making frameworks that support meaningful outcomes.

 

About the Role
As the Principal Advisor, you will:

  • Provide high-level executive support through strategic advice, analysis, and coordination across key organisational initiatives.
  • Oversee complex projects and initiatives that support a positive employee experience and strategic goals.
  • Manage strategic stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management.
  • Provide expert advice on emerging issues, making recommendations aligned with plans, policies, and project objectives.
  • Establish and maintain transparent reporting frameworks to inform decisions and highlight performance trends.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using compelling ‘storytelling’ techniques.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, anticipating priorities and ensuring seamless coordination across high-impact work areas.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance delivery of organisational priorities.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience as an Executive Officer or in a similar high-level support role, with a proven ability to provide strategic advice and executive coordination.
  • Strong background in strategic planning, reporting, and delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships across a range of sectors.
  • Skilled in analysing and interpreting data to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrated capability to support executive leadership through well-considered advice, high-level coordination, and the ability to anticipate and respond to organisational priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity and influence effectively.
  • A collaborative and adaptive leader focused on continuous improvement and positive organisational impact.

 

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and/or relevant work experience.

 

Contribute to meaningful outcomes by supporting strategic delivery and driving improvements that benefit the organisation and the communities it serves.

 


About the Agency

The NSW Reconstruction Authority (RA) is an executive agency of the Premier’s Department. The RA will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster. 
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the RA will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
