Senior Business Analyst – Digital Case File
Location – Sydney CBD / Parramatta / Hybrid
Employment type – Full-Time / Temporary (12 months with possibility of extension)
Salary – $125,693.00- $138,510.00 PA, Plus Employers Contribution to Superannuation and Leave Loading
Project Overview
In 2024, DCJ established a program of work to progress the delivery of end-to-end Digital Case File (DCF) for NSW Courts and Tribunals. The DCF is a significant and complex business transformation initiative that will require sustained investment and effort over several years across all NSW Courts and Tribunals.
There are several projects and workstreams within the DCF program of work leading the discovery, development and other related initiatives. A discovery stream is being formed to commence analysis and discovery activities for the remaining jurisdictions with several objectives such as articulating how DCF solution could and should be extended to other jurisdictions in NSW Courts and Tribunals.
Your role
The Senior Business Analyst will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for analysis, digital product definition, design, development, implementation, and delivery. The role is responsible for gathering, reviewing and analysing business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify and document and validate changes for business solutions and enhancements.
What you’ll do
- Plan, support and deliver business analysis work for approved initiatives.
- Conduct business needs analysis, identify and document business processes, functional requirements, user stories etc.
- Identify and document current state and future state process maps, gap analysis, user journey maps, acceptance criteria and process workflows.
- Design tools and implement processes to identify, analyse and facilitate improvements to business systems, processes and workflows aligned with the overall business unit requirements and the Department’s operational plans.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including business process models, training materials and standard operating procedures.
- Review and analyse business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify and document changes user requirements for new business solutions and enhancements.
- Develop strategies for the continuous monitoring, evaluation and improvement of all aspects of business analysis work using known frameworks.
- Manage and develop stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to define business requirements and trends to enable informed business decisions and service level improvements.
- Contribute to customer insights reports and journey maps as well as solution design deliverables with the Project Team, including analysis of options.
- Contribute to the development of project plans (e.g. implementation plans, requirement gathering, specifications, change management, user acceptance testing, training) to facilitate the successful achievement of business initiatives and strategic goals.
- Provide plain language advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences.
What we’re looking for
- Over 5 years’ experience and tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with complex government projects.
- Work with stakeholders including solution architects, service designers, product owners and other subject matter experts to document and provide relevant business solutions, ensuring proper communication and documentation of business requirements to IT solution requirements.
- Ability to assess and document clearly the impact of legislation on business processes, systems and operations and apply complex legislation into actionable business requirements.
- A strong understanding of the nuances of delivering technical programs with varied and complex stakeholders, particularly where there are differing views on the value of introducing digital capabilities.
- The ability to understand technical language, and well versed in topics concerning digital solutions, architecture and system integration.
- Experience in using Mural and Atlassian tool set including JIRA and Confluence.
