The Information and Technology division drives digital innovation and the way we interact with our customers through the development of digital products, IT support, cyber security, and information management services.

 

About the role

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will manage day-to-day ICT (Cyber Security) operations, lead the development of the Cyber Security Infrastructure, drive improvements and build strong Governance across the ICT Cyber Security environment. This role will lead NSW Trustee and Guardian's Cyber Security transformation journey and is key to the success of its Cyber Strategy. You will design and implement solutions and collaborate with the Senior Manager IT Operations & Security and key internal stakeholders.

 

This is an exciting opportunity that will see you:

  • provide high quality customer support and expert functional, technical and system administration support and advice to users across multiple locations, platforms and technologies;
  • guide the activities of Technical Support Administrators responsible for the operational maintenance of the organisation’s ICT (Cyber Security) environment;
  • ensure the Agencies Day to day ICT (Cyber Security) operations run smoothly and securely;
  • engage with Senior leaders and Stakeholders across the organisation on ICT (Cyber Security) projects and initiatives;
  • drive improvement, optimization, and efficiency across ICT (Cyber Security) operations.

 

This Senior Cyber Security Analyst role will provide expert advice in the following areas:

  • Cyber Security: Manage security related incidents, ensuring appropriate resolution and support to mitigate future risks.
  • Cyber Security: Provide expert advice and lead discussion around solution upgrades and functionality, and organisation-wide ICT Security
  • ICT Security Audits: Provide expert advice, lead engagements and discussions.
  • Cyber Security Governance:   
    • Establish, maintain an ISMS and drive overall Cyber Security maturity uplift and Governance
    • Ensure policies, standards and procedures across the organisation are compliant
    • Drive reporting and risk assessments to ensure the safeguarding of the NSW TAG ICT digital assets, information, and data.

About you

Our ideal candidates has:

  • Have a minimum 4 years proven experience as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst with Microsoft Azure Cloud, LAN, WAN & Security (Firewall, IPS, IDS, SIEM, VPN) skills;
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g. Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cyber Security and/or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience;  
  • Proven experience in examining, analysing and investigating security events or incidents, Incident response and Forensic investigation;
  • Proven experience working in a complex technology environment with an understanding of current cyber threats, trends and technology;
  • Experience and familiarity with ICT Cyber Security Audits, ACSC Essential 8, Cyber Security Policy and/or ISM will be highly regarded;
  • Be competent designing and building solutions relating to the above platforms.

Essential requirements  

  • Relevant tertiary and/or professional qualifications in Computer Science and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Participation in an on-call and/or after hours work roster to ensure service continuity to clients may be required.
