Senior Manager, Enterprise Project Management Officer – NSW Trustee and Guardian

  • Ongoing. 35 hours per week.
  • Location: Parramatta or Sydney. Flexible and hybrid working options available.
  • Clerk Grade: 11/12. Base salary $145,378 p.a. to $168,130 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

The Financial Performance and Investments division provides a full range of financial services including budgeting, procurement, customer accounts, investment management and office property and facility services.

 

About the role
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is responsible for NSW Trustee and Guardian’s overall EPMO function providing leadership, integration, governance and management of EPMO frameworks, processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency in the delivery of the portfolio of projects. This includes ensuring portfolio and project risks and issues are understood, and appropriately mitigated and purported benefits are realised over time.

 

The Senior Manager, EPMO provides expert advice to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Project Sponsors, Project Managers and other stakeholders to achieve organisational priorities. The role also provides expert advice on Change Management and supports the delivery of Organisational Process Improvements.

 

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Establish effective governance, project/program management frameworks, processes and tools to underpin effective project/program delivery within agreed timelines and budget, and with achievement of defined outcomes/benefits.
  • Contribute to strategic and business planning for the Executive, and champion the development of project/program action plans in alignment with the Strategic Plan, to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Monitor and track the progress of projects/programs to ensure the reporting requirements of the portfolio of projects underpinning the Strategic Plan to the ELT, Audit and Risk Committee and other relevant fora.
  • Oversight, manage and monitor the allocated operational and capital budgets to projects/programs in line with financial requirements.
  • Provide a holistic view of all organisational project/program activity to enable the strategic coordination of multiple projects and manage interdependencies and coordination across projects and teams to ensure that information relating to project deliverables, risks, and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders.
  • Stand up project teams and manage special projects on behalf of the ELT in the event of a sudden environmental change to problem-solve and support the efficient achievement of management outcomes while fostering high levels of collaboration.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with project leaders and senior stakeholders, work with hybrid, cross-functional teams, and provide coaching to enhance NSWTGs project management capability, and improve project outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to project/program managers to facilitate effective adherence to the Project/ Program Management Framework and delivery of outcomes.

About you
Application is encouraged if you demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive experience in governance, project/program management and strategic planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of project/program management tools, frameworks and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in strategic business planning.
  • Experience in monitoring, tracking, and managing operational and capital budgets. 
  • Strong ability to foster collaborative internal stakeholder relationships that allow you to deliver on strategic priorities.

Essential requirements  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in program and project management and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in managing programs or multiple interdependent projects.
