Classification Grade: Legal Officer Grade IV
Salary: $134,483 - $137,071 p.a. (Employer's contribution to superannuation and leave loading is paid in addition to the salary)
Work type: Full-Time – 35 hours per week 


About the role


An exciting opportunity exists for you, a senior solicitor, to join the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office (CSO).
As a Senior Solicitor, you will be responsible for the conduct of assigned legal matters involving advice, transaction and/or litigation within a specialist legal practice group. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of challenging, varied, exciting and often high-profile advice and litigation matters representing NSW government agencies in a broad range of courts and tribunals.

This recruitment will be used to create a talent pool to fill ongoing and temporary full-time and part-time vacancies as they arise over the next 18 months at the CSO. 

 

About You 


Our ideal candidate will be an experienced solicitor with developed legal skills in an area/s of law in which the Crown Solicitor specialises. You will have experience preparing legal documents, providing legal advice and/or undertaking litigation work. You will also have a willingness to learn as this is a unique opportunity to gain highly regarded experience across a broad spectrum of legal services and build strong client relationships while working in an open, collaborative and supportive team environment.

Essential requirements 

  • Completion of a law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law course.
  • Developed legal skills and experience which enable the provision of advice and representation in legal matters in areas of law in which the Crown Solicitor specialises.
  • Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW.
