About the role

The CSO provides comprehensive legal services to the NSW Government, and Senior Solicitors play a crucial role in service provision. In advocacy, our solicitors represent government agencies in courts and tribunals to ensure their interests are effectively defended. In litigation, solicitors manage complex legal disputes, providing strategic advice and representation to achieve favourable outcomes. In advice work, solicitors offer expert legal opinions and guidance on a wide range of issues, helping government agencies navigate legal complexities and make informed decisions. In transactional work, solicitors negotiate and draft agreements, ensuring that government transactions are legally sound and align with policy objectives.

We have a diverse range of practice groups across the CSO. If you are successful, we will endeavour to match you to a practice group relevant to your experience and interest. For more information on our areas of expertise click here.
